Hazy Fantasy NEIPA
New England IPAs are beers that are purposely hazy or cloudy, which can give these brews a smooth, creamy mouthfeel – a departure from the light/dry mouthfeel you often get with West Coast IPAs – with little to no hop bitterness at the end utilizing hops that impart a tropical, juicy sweetness rather than the classic bitter, dank or citrus-y flavors West Coast IPA lovers have come to expect.

Hi, I came across your Hazy Fantasy and I’m going to try it out this weekend. I know this batch yields 4.9L but I’m wondering how much water should I use for the mash? I brewed a 5 gallon recipe last week and lost about a gallon in the boil so I’m guessing I should use about 6L with the malts but I just wanted to make sure. It’s my third time brewing so I’m very new at this. Thanks in advance.
Hi Sash,
The calculation you should use for almost all all-grain recipes is a 3:1 water to grain ratio.
